You’ve probably heard the song from Fiddler on the Roof.
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don’t remember growing older
When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wasn’t it yesterday
When they were small?
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears
It’s a beautiful song. It’s also one that makes us give thought to our lives and to the passing of time. It’s true. The years do fly swiftly.
Our days on earth are measured by sunrises and sunsets, and recently I had occasion to dig around a bit and uncover a few precious thoughts. Today, I’d like to share a few of my favorites with you.
Please remember to make the most of each sunrise and sunset of your life!
